So, people are always asking us “does tea count towards our daily fluid intake?”

You’ll be pleased to know that the answer is a big, fat YES!

The Tea Advisory Panel have set the record straight by declaring

Tea contains aproximately 99% water. It is an important source of fluid and can count towards your daily intake of 8 cups of fluid. Both the Food Standards Agency and the British Dietetic Association advise that tea can help to meeting daily fluid requirements.  Tea consumption does not produce a diuretic effect unless the amount of tea consumed at one sitting contained more than 300mg of caffeine. This is equivalent to six or seven cups of tea at one sitting. 

So if you’re looking for ways to reach your 2-2.5 litres of fluid per day, you can sit back, pour a cuppa and relax, or if you’re out and about, pour a sachet of GREEN TEA IN 3 into your water bottle and go!
